What is Tubitak Project?

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, or TUBITAK for short, is one of the relevant institutions of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, which aims to promote, direct and popularize science and technology in Turkey and is subject to private law provisions.

When it was established by Cemal Gürsel in 1963 with the aim of advising the government and guiding the national science policy, it was known as the "Science, Technical and Research Institution of Turkey", but later on, its name was changed to "The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey" and it was called by this name for a long time. In the meantime, Popular Science books have been published since 1993. Then, with the use of the word "technological" instead of "technical", the name of the institution took its final form in 2005.
